Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Scholastic (2003)
Harry returns to Hogwarts for his fifth year to find that almost nobody believes his account of Voldemort's return. The Ministry of Magic runs a campaign to discredit him and installs Dolores Umbridge at the school, whose rules tighten week by week until practical defense lessons stop altogether. Harry and his friends form a secret student group to train themselves, while the Order of the Phoenix regroups in the shadows, Harry's dreams begin leaking into someone else's mind, and a prophecy locked deep in the Ministry turns out to concern him directly. The longest and darkest volume in the series, and the one where authority itself becomes the enemy

At around 870 pages it is the longest book in the series, and it arrived after a three-year gap that made its release one of the largest publishing events on record. It was filmed in 2007 with Imelda Staunton as Umbridge, a performance often named the most memorable villain turn in the film series
