More than fifteen years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, the theocratic regime of the Republic of Gilead maintains its grip on power, but signs of decay are emerging. The narrative unfolds through the testimonies of three distinct women: Aunt Lydia, a powerful figure operating within the regime's hierarchy; Agnes, a young woman growing up in Gilead; and Daisy, a teenager living in Canada who discovers her true identity is intertwined with the regime's secrets.
